Sad, but true...

It's been a long time since we've updated the blog....of course, it has been on our "to-do" list for quite a few weeks now, but the longer we go without updating, the more overwhelmed we get with trying to fit everything that has happened into one blog post. Well, now that the ticker on the side of this post says we have "30 days to go," I figured it'd be best to at least get something started. I know the reality is that there won't be any more time between now and 18 years from now to update the blog. We promise we'll do better at posting pictures, though.

A lot has happened since our last post on April 15th. Some of the biggest highlights include:
*Viktor completing his first year of seminary--1 down, 3 to go! We have really enjoyed some extra time together now that the pressure of class and schoolwork has settled for a couple months. He'll start back in August with an intensive class and then be back at it full-time in Sept.
*Celebrating my (Kristen) birthday on May 5th.
*Celebrating our 2 year anniversary on May 12th.
*A visit from our friend's Matt and Heni (missionaries in Malawi). Heni is from Hungary and knows Viktor from previous ministry there.
*Celebrating with the 2009 ATS grads and especially our friend, Dan, and his wife Steph. We miss them now that they've moved to northern Indiana to serve in a local church, but we couldn't be more proud of them!
*Two very sweet baby showers...one in KY and one in IN. What a blessing to share the excitment of this new little life with our dearest friends and family?!
*Two trips to Bloomington to visit with family and friends before our travel was restricted due to baby Rozsa's close due date. We love spending time on the lake with family in the summer, and though those days may be over with for this year, we did get to enjoy two weekends of boating and family time in May/early June.
*Attending a Lexington Legends baseball game as a "reward" from Viktor's work.
*Attending a birthing class and baby class at the hospital where we will deliver. It was fun to go through these classes together and learn more about what we can expect in the next couple of months.

There you have it. It's been busy, but we have enjoyed every minute of celebrating with our friends and family, growing together as a couple, and anticipating things to come! So far, the month of July looks clear on our calendar, compared to the past few months. Unless baby Rozsa decides to come late (into August), we'll be celebrating our daughter's birth this month, and we couldn't be more excited.

Unfortunately, I'm on the computer that doesn't load and upload pictures very well. So, even though we have many pictures to share, you'll have to wait until next time. I won't promise anything, but maybe I'll do a follow-up "picture blog" tomorrow!

Preparing for Baby Rozsa

We have been busy with work and school, as usual; however, we've had some fun along the way as we prepare for sweet Baby Rozsa's arrival. We had our 25 week check up last week and everything looks great. It really hit me when our midwife said we would only have one more month appointment before going every 2 weeks...time is flying by! Enjoy the pictures below!

Viktor will periodically try on the Baby Bjorn carrier and "practice" with this pack of diapers! He is so ready to be a dad (wait until he changes some of those diapers!). Thanks to our friend, Angela, for the carrier...we enjoyed a visit from her and her son, Lucas, a few weeks ago.


The Ban Family came down in March for 2 days to visit! We enjoyed spending time together and thanks to Eric and Oscar the crib is up and functional!
They also brought loads of baby gear to help prepare for Baby Rozsa! Can you believe I started baby-sitting for these kids when they were babies!?!?

Here is the crib! We've obviously not done any decorating yet, but it's so fun to have the crib up! Praise the Lord for hand-me-downs! We received this crib as a gift from a co-worker whose kids used it many years ago. We are blessed!

And the finale of this post--our great friends, Dan and Steph, came to surprise us on the evening we found out we were having a girl. Look how cute they are in the pink! Steph is holding a onsie that says "Daddy Did My Hair" and Dan is holding a baby Katie doll, which has two purposes...first, it is an eat and wet doll, so we can have practice, second, since we are not telling the name of Baby Rozsa until she is here, they thought we needed some help and are suggesting baby Katie. Life in Wilmore just wouldn't be complete with out our sweet friends!

Sweet Baby Rozsa...

So, it's been a while since we've visited the land of blogging. We haven't been quiet for any particular reason other than busy schedules now that classes have started. Viktor is taking four classes this semester and I (Kristen) am taking one along with him. We are enjoying glimpses of spring in Wilmore and look forward to more warm days in the near future. We're looking forward to some visitors in a couple weeks and then a trip home to Bloomington soon after. It's hard to believe how fast time is flying!

This week marks the half way point in our pregnancy! Today was a day we've been looking forward to for a long time...the big ULTRASOUND! We are happy to announce that we are expecting a GIRL! We have a good report from the doctor, as well. All of the measurements and workings of our little one look great and we're right on for our due date of July 27 (though, I'm doubtful we'll hit it right on)! It's still hard to believe that this little life is growing inside of me! I can definitely feel her squirming around throughout the day (which she proudly displayed during the ultrasound as well), and cannot wait for the day Viktor can begin to feel the kicks on the outside!

On a side note...here is a little story that goes along with finding out the gender of our baby. All along we have thought it was a boy. No particular reason, just for some reason we thought it was a boy. So, we were for sure the tech would say "it's a boy" today, but those were not the words out of her mouth. Though we are thrilled either way, it was like we had to switch our brains to girl mode! Well, I wasn't quite sure what was going through Viktor's mind during the visit, as he seemed extra quiet. I was sure it was a combination of his 2 hours of sleep the night before and processing all that was going on with the appointment. As we stepped out of the doctor's office, these were his words, "I can still take my daughter fishing." (in a somewhat questioning, reassuring tone). How CUTE! It was as if he were making sure that he could still do these bonding things he always dreamed of doing with his child. I reassured him that he could take her fishing or play soccer with her, among many other things. I just love him and know that he is going to be a GREAT dad!

So much to say....

The title says it all...as we sit here thinking about what to write, we're struck with the question, "where do we start!" It has been a busy few months in the Rozsa household. We were able to spend a couple days in Bloomington with Kristen's family and friends over Christmas before heading back to KY where we spent the next week moving. We have a random collection of pictures to share a little bit of what has been going on with us this past month. On Christmas day we had dinner with Kristen's two uncles, aunt, grandma, and brother. Kristen's parents were in Mexico for Christmas, so we enjoyed spending time with her extended family. As part of the day Uncle Mike brought a Peppermint Pig for us to celebrate. Have you heard of it? If you haven't figured it out yet: we're pregnant! We found out in November that we would be expecting a baby at the end of July. Since that time we have been busy telling our friends and family and planning out some details of this new addition to our family. We've moved off campus so we can have room to grow and mainly because the on-campus housing we were previously in does not allow for children. The Lord provided a place for us just 2 days after we found out we were pregnant. This was such a blessing so we could get settled during Christmas break and before the next semester begins.

There you have it! Our Christmas celebration and our big news of 2009! Kristen moved into a new role in her office last week, so she is busy learning new responsibilities. Viktor has the month of January off from class and will begin again in early February. Now that we've moved and are somewhat getting settled, we hope to keep this blog updated a little more often. Merry Christmas from the Rozsa family! We will be heading to IN on Christmas eve to be with family and friends before returning back to KY on Friday. We are due for a big update soon, so we'll be catching you up to speed in a week or so. Until then, have a wonderful Christmas as you celebrate the birth of Jesus.

We're back!

Yes, it has been a long time since we have updated this blog. The middle of the semester came quickly and things seemed to get crazy and stay crazy. This is really the first time we have had a chance to sit down, reflect, and write about what has been going on with us. Whew! Things are good in the Rozsa family, keeping busy, but enjoying life together. Since our last update Kristen has traveled to Orlando, FL and back and Viktor survived 5 days at home alone. It was our first time to be a part as a married couple and we've decided to keep that to a minimum in the future. Everything went well, but we definitely enjoy doing life together and not miles apart. Kristen enjoyed the opportunity to travel with her boss and other co-workers to experience the community on Asbury's Florida campus. As campus visit coordinator for both the KY and FL campus, it was important for her to have first-hand experience of life on both campuses to better serve the prospective students.

November has already been a big month for us! Among other things (keeping up with work, school, etc), on Friday, Nov. 14th, we volunteered at our church's Jesus Prom, a celebration for the mentally and physically disabled people of our community and in several surrounding states. It was probably one of the most rewarding and joyous occasions we have ever had the privilege to attend. We, along with our friends Dan and Steph and about 1000 other volunteers, lined up and received over 1200 individuals through the doors of Southland on Friday evening. We were each paired with an individual as he/she entered the building and spent the next 4 hours escorting them to dinner, games, pictures, the dance floor, and game shows. Steph and I happened to get two guys who were good friends, so the four of us stayed together for the evening. The halls of Southland were hopping and it was such an incredible thing to see the interactions of all the people. It was as if we had a seen a taste of what heaven will be like!

On Sunday, Nov. 16th, we celebrated Viktor's birthday with some of our friends from Asbury. We had a good time at Bd's Mongolian BBQ and finished the celebration at home with Viktor's favorite, pumpkin swirl cheesecake. We have posted some pictures below of our time at Bd's. Viktor received his first ever Happy Birthday balloon...thanks Dan and Steph!

This week started out with a surprise visit from our good friend, Doug, from Bloomington. He showed up in Kristen's office around 11am and proceeded to be Viktor's living alarm clock. It was such a blessing to spend some time with him and to see a face from back home. Thanks for coming by, Doug!

We're now looking ahead to the holidays and having some down time without the demands of work and school. It amazes us that Thanksgiving is next week! We look forward to sharing the holiday together with a friend of ours, Natalie, and her family from Texas! We are thankful for each one of you and your friendship. Thank you for your love and support in life!

Apples, pumpkins, pears, OH MY!

Although it has been in the mid to upper 80's here in KY and not anything like fall weather, we decided to take advantage of the beautiful weather last weekend at Boyd Orchard. We had a lot of fun and walked away with some great tasting apples and apple butter. This weekend was Fall Preview Weekend at Asbury, so Kristen was busy hosting 45 guests on campus as they came to experience Asbury and learn more about what God is doing here. It was a great time of fellowship and Viktor was able to step away from studying and come for a couple of meals and sessions to extend his welcome to the prospective students as well. It was Fall Preview Weekend of last year when we first came to check out Asbury, so it was exciting for us to be on this end of things and to share our experience from where we were a year ago to this point in time. Kristen will travel to FL in a couple weeks to host more prospective students at the Preview Weekend on the Orlando campus.

We continue to keep busy with our jobs, classes, and friends, but are thoroughly enjoying it at the same time.
