Our Littlest Valentine

Here is Emily before church on Sunday (Valentine's Day). She is teething right now and both bottom teeth are coming in. We were literally about to walk out the door for church and she fell asleep, which due to teething we decided sleep was necessary for her rather than waking her up to sit through church and be miserable. So, we just spent the day relaxing together as a family.
It was such a blessing.

Go Colts...maybe next year!

So, I'm a little late in posting this, but better late than never, huh? We were able to watch the Colts play in the Super Bowl while we were up in Greenwood, IN. We had to be there for some meetings at OMS, so we took advantage of the time with our friends, Tom and Beth. Here is our favorite Colts fan:

Tom and Beth have hosted many international students (including Viktor) over the years. Here are three of the current high school students who are living with them. They were having fun in the snow and made a huge igloo...can you guess what is wrong with this picture?!?!

Here is Emily babbling away as she enjoys her new favorite food: SQUASH! We took this video a couple days ago, and when Viktor played it again today, she stopped what she was doing and listened to it being played...she then proceeded to talk back to herself and giggle. She keeps us smiling!

6 months!

On January 30th, Emily turned 6 months old! It's so hard to believe! We are enjoying our sweet girl more and more each day...she brings a lot of laughter into our home. Here are a few pictures from her half birthday. Enjoy!

Our good friends, the Bevil's, surprised Emily with a 1/2 of a birthday cake for her 1/2 birthday!

Don't worry, this is as close as she got to the cake. She'll have to wait 6 more months before partaking in Missy's delicious baking.

They even sang Happy Half Birthday to her.

We are loving the mohawk, Ems! Well, we're just happy she finally has some hair!

However, a bath can make all her troubles disappear! This might possibly be her favorite time of the day!

Green beans

Emily's favorite food is by far green beans (of bananas, sweet potatoes, rice cereal, and green beans)....take a look for yourself:

Our trip to Northern Indiana

Emily and I recently flew up to Chicago to visit our good friends, the Ban family, who live in Crown Point, IN. We had a great time! Emily did really well on the plane...we flew up on a flight full of businessmen and they were all entertaining her. Here are a few pictures from the weekend.

This is the best picture I could get of both of us on the flight. It was a little difficult to hold her and take a picture while we were crammed in the plane.

We went to the high school gym a few times to walk the track and let the kids play around. Here is Karen teaching Emily some gymnastics.

Karen and Mae supporting Ems on the balance beam...hmmm...future gymnast?!?! Looks like a natural to me!

Mae was a great baby-sitter. Emily refused to nap, so Mae walked her around the track a few times and she was out.

I love these kids!! I used to babysit for Oscar (14), Brick (12), and Mae (9) when they were really little. It's hard to believe how fast they have grown up. Emily had so much fun playing with them!

This picture is a little dark, but here is Emily with Eric watching some TV one morning. She really likes Eric and thinks he is pretty funny!

And, I just had to share this picture because it makes us laugh. Emily is scooting everywhere. She can go in circles, side to side, and backwards (basically anywhere but forwards). She is starting to get up on her hands and knees and sometimes she gets in push-up position, lifting her entire body supported by her hands and toes. Anyways, it won't be long before she is crawling. This is a picture of her favorite game these days. She finds it so funny to scoot backwards under the couch. She gets under there and then just looks around and smiles until someone comes to save her. She is just the cutest thing!
