Baby shower for Baby G!

A few of my sweet friends threw a baby shower for me a couple weeks ago. I was so blessed by everyone who came and enjoyed celebrating as we anticipate Baby G's arrival!  Unfortunately we managed to miss out on getting a group shot or pics of individuals (other than myself), but I wanted to share some pics of the decor. They did a fabulous job. Such a fun afternoon with special friends!

The diaper cake that Jennie made...adorable!

Olivia was out of town, but ordered this fabulous Strawberry White Chocolate Mousse cake from a local European bakery. YUM! And the adorable shoes and birds on the table were both homemade by Meagan. Emily's room is green and pink with birds, so they continued using that theme since the girls will share a room.

And, we might have spent most of our time standing around this fountain...ha!

My favorite...tulips! Perfect spring flower for a sweet spring baby!

Punch!

More decor that will go in the girl's room. Meagan also made these little birds...so talented!

Everyone wrote a message on the diapers so I will be quite entertained in the months to come!

Doesn't this look delicious?!

We had a great time together and I loved the care and detail that these ladies put into making it such a special afternoon!

We are ready to meet you baby girl!!

Snow Day!

Emily loves the snow! Sadly we haven't had much of it at all this winter (just a dusting here and there). I was beginning to wonder if she would even wear her snow pants and boots that were passed along for this winter. Well, today we woke up to 3-5 inches (depending on who you ask) and she was delighted to play in it. In fact, as she looked out the window this morning she exclaimed, "There is snow all over! It's a beautiful day to play outside!" Later she asked me, "Where is my swimsuit, mama?" haha! It was 70 degrees on Friday with tornado warnings and 32 and snow today! Pretty crazy! Sadly, daddy is away this week and missing out on his favorite weather...and tomorrow it is going to be 60 and sunny, so he will miss it altogether. Here are some pics of Em playing this morning.

Checking it out!

 Let's go!

Taking a little taste....mmmmm.

Throwing a snowball!

And another snowball...

Working on a snow angel...a little unsure of putting her head down in it.

Eating a little bit more!

Her favorite part...sledding!

Daddy, we are sorry you couldn't be here to play with us today, but hopefully these brought a smile to your face!

Getting ready for her baby sister!

Learning fun!

We have recently enrolled Emily in a preschool program for this fall-- thanks to my mom who has offered to fund it! We are so excited about this opportunity for Emily and can't wait to watch her continue to grow and develop. We also believe it will help prepare her for preschool/kindergarten the next year (Lord willing) in Hungary. One of the things the director told me they would be working on in her 3 yr old class is handwriting. I figured if she is going to do handwriting I better start working more intentionally with her on recognizing her ABC's. She knows a few, and obviously knows her alphabet song, but I found some fun things on the web to help encourage her ability to recognize her letters. This week we started with "A"...she seemed to love it!

Here she is checking out the worksheets I had printed off...

It didn't take her long to get into it!

She was so proud!

Working on "little a"

I also found some verses to go along with each letter so we could have a memory verse for each lesson.

After our ABC's we decided to get out the sorting blocks and have some more fun! Here she is sorting her colors.

And, after a bit we turned on Pandora to listen to some music while we played. The song, "Everlasting God" came on and she took this stack of blocks, stood up, and started singing as if she were performing with a microphone...she cracks me up!

First Haircut!

We marked Emily turning 2.5 this week with her first haircut! I was SUPER nervous as I sat her on the sink and began to chop away...thankfully her hair was long enough that if I messed it up too bad I could always run her to a professional and have it fixed. However, I think I did a pretty good job...and was happy to save $15! She was a champ...I gave her a lollipop to help her sit still, but she really wasn't interested in it. She just enjoyed watching the whole process in the mirror. She definitely looks more grown up without the baby-fine ends dangling down her back (sniff, sniff), but she sure is cute!

Future soccer player??

 Daddy thinks so!
