Our trip to Northern Indiana

Emily and I recently flew up to Chicago to visit our good friends, the Ban family, who live in Crown Point, IN. We had a great time! Emily did really well on the plane...we flew up on a flight full of businessmen and they were all entertaining her. Here are a few pictures from the weekend.

This is the best picture I could get of both of us on the flight. It was a little difficult to hold her and take a picture while we were crammed in the plane.

We went to the high school gym a few times to walk the track and let the kids play around. Here is Karen teaching Emily some gymnastics.

Karen and Mae supporting Ems on the balance beam...hmmm...future gymnast?!?! Looks like a natural to me!

Mae was a great baby-sitter. Emily refused to nap, so Mae walked her around the track a few times and she was out.

I love these kids!! I used to babysit for Oscar (14), Brick (12), and Mae (9) when they were really little. It's hard to believe how fast they have grown up. Emily had so much fun playing with them!

This picture is a little dark, but here is Emily with Eric watching some TV one morning. She really likes Eric and thinks he is pretty funny!

And, I just had to share this picture because it makes us laugh. Emily is scooting everywhere. She can go in circles, side to side, and backwards (basically anywhere but forwards). She is starting to get up on her hands and knees and sometimes she gets in push-up position, lifting her entire body supported by her hands and toes. Anyways, it won't be long before she is crawling. This is a picture of her favorite game these days. She finds it so funny to scoot backwards under the couch. She gets under there and then just looks around and smiles until someone comes to save her. She is just the cutest thing!

A New Toy for the Rozsa Family

So, Emily and I just spent a long weekend with our good friends, the Bans, in N. Indiana. We had a great time visiting and Emily had fun playing with everyone. We will have pictures to post later, but Viktor wanted to try out our new gadget (a gift from the Bans this weekend)--a video camera. We can now capture fun moments with our baby girl on video...and post them on here!

Emily's sock...

This morning, Emily and I were packing up to head out to Walmart so I could get a few last minute things for our trip to N. Indiana tomorrow. I was ready to walk out the door when I noticed Emily's sock was missing. I was a little frustrated that I was completely ready and now had the interruption of the sock...haha. I put everything down and went on a search. After a couple minutes (probably just one, but it seemed longer), I found her sock, put it on, and out the door we went. As we were driving down the road to Walmart, we stumbled upon a bad wreck (literally missed it by seconds)...the car had been jolted about across both ways of traffic (debris was everywhere), people were running to the scene, and immediately I prayed for the situation. It was at that moment that I also thanked God for Emily's misplaced sock this morning...for a second I wondered what would've been if we hadn't had the interruption and were at the place of the accident just a few seconds prior. As we continued on our way and pulled over for numerous emergency vehicles (3 police, 2 ambulances, and 1 firetruck), tears came to my eyes as I again, prayed for those involved in the wreck and also thanked God for protecting Emily and I this morning. Next time, maybe I'll be a little less quick to get frustrated over a lost sock.

Today I am especially grateful for God's protection over our family!

Emily is 5 months!

Look at those cheeks!

Emily is scooting all over the place these days. She goes backwards and can turn herself in circles. It seems to frustrate her more than anything because she always moves further from her toys rather than closer. It's fun to watch her learn these new skills....

It's hard to get a picture without a drop of drool...but, it's super cute! We've seen no sign of any teeth yet (except perhaps the drool and constant need to chomp on something hard).

New Year's 2010

We spent New Year's Eve with our good friends, the Bevils, and had a blast! Here are some pictures of our New Year's celebration!

We gave Emily her first taste of solid food...rice cereal. She seemed to do well with it, but then she got sick with RSV (not related!) and was so congested she couldn't eat well. We're holding off on solids for a little bit longer, but it was a fun experience for all!

Of course, this is the way you should eat Rotel...right out of the crock pot...

The Bevils made their famous Beignets...oh.so.good.

Nothing like ringing in the new year with a bottle of sparkling grape juice...

Of course, the night would not have been complete without a couple rounds of Settlers of Catan (while watching the ball drop--can you tell how excited the Hungarians are about the NY ball drop...haha)

Yes, we played Settler's until 2:37am....got home after 3am...and had maybe 3 hours of sleep...not my brightest moments in life!

New Year's Day...getting ready for the Rose Bowl! Emily woke daddy up bright and early (she was way too excited) so he could watch the parade!

Emily's Baby Dedication

On Dec. 27th we had Emily dedicated at our home church (Evangelical Community Church) in Bloomington, IN. It was a special time as we publicly dedicated her life to God and committed ourselves to raising her in a Christ-centered home.

My youth pastor, John Mangrum, led the ceremony. He is special to both Viktor and I and it meant a lot that he could lead us in prayer as a family.

Emily is wearing her great-grandmother's dress from 89 years ago. She is pictured here with great-grandma Carolyn, who lovingly let us borrow it for the occasion.
